Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays let us see between and beneath your teeth, so we can find issues a visual exam alone would miss — using a fraction of the radiation of older film.
What it is
Digital radiographs are detailed images of your teeth, roots, and the bone around them. They help us detect cavities between teeth, infection at the root, bone loss from gum disease, and the position of developing or wisdom teeth.
Because the sensor is digital, the image appears on screen in seconds — and we can review it together, right there with you.
What to expect
- 1
Quick and simple
A small sensor captures the image in a moment. There's no discomfort, and the whole process takes just a few minutes.
- 2
Lower radiation
Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film, and we only take the images we genuinely need.
- 3
We look together
Your dentist shows you the images on screen and explains what they see in everyday language.
Your comfort comes first
We follow strict imaging guidelines and shielding, and we never take more X-rays than necessary. If you're pregnant or have concerns, just tell us — we'll adjust accordingly.
Common questions
Are dental X-rays safe?
Digital dental X-rays use a very low dose of radiation, and we use protective shielding and take only the images needed for your care. We're always happy to discuss any concerns.
How often do I need X-rays?
It depends on your age, risk of cavities, and dental history. Many patients have a small set taken about once a year, with a fuller set less often. Your dentist will recommend what's right for you.
